If you’re bringing a new cat into your home, be patient. The introduction must be gradual.

Following the initial introduction, it can take a very long time for a relationship to grow. It takes most cats 8 to 12 months to develop a friendship with a new cat.

Although some cats certainly become close friends, others never do. Many cats who don’t become buddies learn to avoid each other, but some cats fight when introduced and continue to do so until one of the cats must be rehomed.

Tending to the cat litter box is a huge part of cat care, for any breed. A big Maine Coon cat can have special needs when it comes to litter boxes.

There's really no such thing as "litter training" a cat in the same way one would housetrain a dog. You actually don't need to teach your cat what to do with a litter box; instinct will generally take over.

You do need to provide an acceptable, accessible litter box, using generally accepted guidelines. When there is a cat urinating outside the litter box there is always a reason.

Are you wondering what style to get, how many, where to place them, or what type of kitty litter to get?

There is actually much more to the whole subject than meets the eye, or nose! What about an automatic cat litter box?

Find answers at main-coon-cat-nation.com and have your cat using the little box again soon.

For cat lovers everywhere, there are three “F” diseases whose mere mention can send shivers up the spine: Feline Leukemia (Felv), Feline Immunodeficiency virus (FIV), and Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

Although they are 3 distinct diseases, each one can wreak havoc on the immune system, and each can lead to serious or fatal disease.

There’s a lot of information out there. So, let veterinarian, Dr. Richard Goldstein of Cat Wisdom 101, boil it down to what’s most important and try to minimize those shivering spines.

This "bad" cat behavior is your cat trying to tell you something. It means your cat is under stress, and trying to get your attention.A cat never does this to misbehave, and it is not about the litter box.

When you realize there has been a cat urinating on carpet in your home it can be really hard to keep your cool. But the key is to take a step back and find out why she is doing this. Then help her.

When she feels better, she'll go back to the litter box.

Not all that long ago, an estate planning lawyer would have given you an odd look if you had inquired about creating a "pet trust" or otherwise including your animals in your estate planning. But now, if you don't bring it up, your lawyer is likely to.

A sizeable percentage of people who go to lawyers about wills and trusts want to take steps to make sure that if their animals outlive them, they will be well taken care of.

It's a reasonable concern. Many animals end up being surrendered to shelters after their owners die, and many of them do not find new homes.

Luckily, with some planning, you can provide for your pets, and make sure that they'll always have a home. Click here for some of your options.
